How to Leverage Your Blogs Through Social Media

Maintaining a blog can be time consuming, but it can be very rewarding, especially when you learn how to leverage it in ways that are easy and effective. Instead of writing a blog and letting it sit on your website hoping people will land on it, strive to achieve the following 2 goals with your blog:

Goal #1 is to direct a lot of traffic to your website.

Goal #2 is to get people to learn more about what you do after reading your blog, so they can hire you.

When you write a blog, the first thing you should do is post the blog on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. On LinkedIn, be sure to not only post an update, but also share the post with your groups. If you aren't utilizing the groups feature in LinkedIn, you are missing out on the power of LInkedIn. (There are thousands of groups to choose from - Join ones that consist of members that are your target market. Some groups have a couple hundred people in them and some have 50,000 or more members. What a great way to get your blog seen by tons of people). Facebook also has a group feature now, although it isn't as popular yet.

Make sure your blog contains highly useful and relevant information, and then in the subject line of your social media post, write a headline that grabs attention and opens up a possible discussion about your topic. Then add the link to your blog.

What you'll find is that if you are sharing information that people need and want, they will not only read your blog, but they will also look through your website to learn more about you. They will also join in on the discussions you created on LinkedIn, Facebook, etc, which will draw even more attention to your blog and generate more interest.

If your blog does not reside on your website, but instead is hosted by WordPress, Blogger or a similar blogging site, be sure to make it easy for people to get to your main website from your blog. Include links within your blog posts that allow them to find more related information (it could be links to other related blogs you've written or to your services page, etc. Just make sure the links are also useful in nature instead of sales-like).

This method can land you new clients every week, especially if you do this consistently with once a week being the bare minimum.

I completely agree with this above comment, the internet is with a doubt growing into your most essential medium of communication across the globe and also its due to sites just like this that ideas are spreading so quickly.
